What we designed and built
The client needed a temperature-controlled storage space larger than a standard 6-metre container could provide. A 40ft High Cube Open Side container was selected as the base, providing approximately 12 metres of usable length and wide access through the side doors. The container was converted into a versatile storage unit designed to maintain stable conditions in different seasons and operating environments.
Insulation, climate control and electrical systems
The container was fully insulated with PIR panels to reduce heat transfer through the walls and ceiling. The floor was modified and finished with aluminum checker plate. A non-slip surface was added to improve safety and usability when people and equipment move through the container.
Two 7 kW air-source heat pumps were installed, providing a total of 14 kW of heating capacity and 14 kW of cooling capacity. The system allows the client to control the internal temperature and remove excess humidity from the container. This supports more stable storage conditions throughout the year.
The container was equipped with a complete electrical package. Two IP65 LED lights with motion control were installed to provide automatic illumination and support safe use in changing conditions. The electrical and climate-control systems were integrated into the container as part of the complete conversion.
