What we designed and built
The client needed a compact and distinctive booth for selling ice cream. A 20ft DC shipping container was selected as the base and shortened to an internal length of 4,340 mm to suit the required footprint.
A 4.2-metre opening was cut into one of the long sides for the sales hatch. The hatch is supported by gas springs and can be opened and closed using a welded pull handle and the supplied operating tool. It folds at two 90-degree points, providing additional advertising space that remains visible from a distance. Steel brackets were welded beneath the opening to support the new wooden sales counter.
A separate access door was installed at the opposite end of the container to make daily movement in and out of the booth easier. The door was fitted with a horizontal safety latch and a place for a lock.
Electrical and Equipment Integration
Four support rails were welded to the opposite long wall for installing vertical storage shelves. After the structural work was completed, the container was sandblasted and painted inside and out in light pink RAL 3015.
The floor was finished with grey plastic flooring and fitted with a floor drain. The booth was also equipped with two LED lights, double power sockets, a water heater, a duct fan and two air vents with grilles. Electricity is supplied through a protected 16A connection.
